A salarian doctor who became notorious in 2191 for claiming to have developed a cure for Kepral's Syndrome, only to be revealed as a fraud.
Ekatuma, of Envision, working out of Noveria, announced a supposed treatment with an 83% success rate. He claimed that after several years of trials Envison now felt confident that they were ready for the commercial market. He also suggested that declassified Cerberus data had been used to develop his cure.
What sounded like one of the biggest breakthroughs in recent medical history turned out to be a scheme to extort money from investors and the Illuminated Primacy. After dedicated investigation, it was discovered that Envision had never before introduced a new drug in C-Space, and Dr. Ekatuma’s credibility and origins came under doubt. No records about his alleged previous inventions could be found anywhere other than on Envision’s extranet sites. It transpired that along with his backer Vol Vad, Ekatuma had been providing misleading documents. The labs of his medical company were shut down and sealed by the authorities in Port Hanshan.
Vol Vad and Viar Ekatuma made their exit, with the Illuminated Primacy asking that anyone with any information on the fugitives contact their embassy.
