The Malaster-class is a model of civilian freighter.
The class was designed to be nigh-identical, to any sensor as well as the most thorough of exterior examinations, to the Barezan-class. In place of the Barezan's enormous spinal main weaponry that takes up the majority of the ship, the Malaster has a much smaller mass accelerator, with the remaining interior space comprising expanded cargo and living space, as well as truly enormous helium-3 stores. Though a Malaster can defend itself, its primary defense is its resemblance to its upgunned relative.
Malaster-class freighters are often used in concert with Barezan wolfpacks, both as support vessels and to deter foes by making the wolfpack appear larger in combat power. They also occasionally receive modification into missile boats.

When the Hazred, a Sultanate ship involved in the Battle of New Carthage, posed as a Vadarat Industries convoy ship transporting Element Zero to Harin Colony, its cargo containers were filled with random commodities bolted onto its frame to help it pose as a Malaster-class freighter.
